THE NAME

A square wave is arguably the simplest waveform, a name we give to the graphical representation of sound amplitude over time. Originally, it was created by switching an electrical signal on and off very quickly. Its sound is harsh, abrasive: distortion produces a similar shape. But from that fundamental tone, endless textures and timbres can be built, beautiful and terrible and all ranges in between. Audio is a medium of intimacy and infinite possibility; let's build something together.
